HI, everyone, I wish I knew what to say but I guess I can ramble for a sec. PTP is certainly improved over the previous version. I think we can all agree that everybody wants something a bit different in life and PTP is no exception. What I want may not be what others want and vice versa.
Heres something I want .......the ability to upload an image into PTP and use it as my tile.....for instance a piece of honey tan slate. Just show me the way.

If you can convert your tile image to a small bitmap file you can load it directly when you browse for your tile's bitmap in the Edit Tile Pattern dialog.
Microsoft Paint will usually do the conversion for you and its available on most PCs. You can use the stretch function to shrink the bitmap to an appropriate size (approx. 100x100 pixels).
Best regards, Phil

A quick question about PTpro. If I download it to my PC, can I copy it into my laptop, or do I have to buy it twice?
If transferrable, is the procedure easy (send via LAN)?
I am seriously considering buying this soon, not that I need another toy to distract me from setting tile, LOL.
Thanks in advance- gueuzeman

Yes you can. Our EULA permits installing a single license of Precision Tile Pro on more than one computer provided it is only used by a single individual. The procedure is simply a matter of copying the installer (the file you download from us) onto your laptop and running it there after running it on your PC. You can do this via a local area network of by copying the installer to a removable drive. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email us at support@laurelcreeksoftware.com.

How can I get the print out to show basic dimensions?

Currently you must add the dimensions you wish to display using the text tool. An automatic callout tool is planned for the next release.

How do I determine scale of my drawing? Also, when I print it out, I want to be able to print it to scale. Thanks.

Precision Tile Pro will display the print scale in the title block of your printout. The scale is automatically set so that your drawing will fit the given paper size and margins.

I found that it is very tidious work when inserting /working with borders on a wall layout as I will need to have 3 separate sections (bottom plain tile, border, top plain tiles). the problem occurs when trying to adjust the border to different hights. All the layout will need to be re-adjusted. I don't know if the pro version will take care of this or not. I think though that the price is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for the new Pro version and I would want the very best and useful functions to be incorporated in the program for that price before even considering purchasing one. At this stage I don't even bother downloading the demo version... Wat's the point if you know is too expensive!
18 Mar 2008. I feel that I have to make an apology to the forum for the way I have spoken about Precision Tile Pro. After some trials with several other software I now feel that Precision Tile Pro is definitely good value for the money. It is simple to use, effective and if runs as smooth as the standard version, then it is also VERY RELIABLE, (never crashed on me once). There! I now feel better for getting it out of my thoughts.

regarding the scaling...can I set the document to print to say. quarter inch scale (meaning every 1/4" = 1') ? If not, how do I measure it manually after it is printed out? I'm not sure what it means when the page shows the scale as 1:16.44.

Oxfordtiler,
We plan on adding a special border tool to Precision Tile Pro in a future release.
Regarding price, you have to consider the value of the software brings to your business. When you consider the time saved, increased estimate accuracy, and increased sales due to a better presentation it is easy to justify the cost. In fact, in our survey of PT Pro users most felt it would pay for itself in less than a year. Many estimated it would pay for itself in just a few months.

conquest,
Sorry the scale is set automatically to best fit the drawing to your paper size. I will suggest that the option to choose the scale be made available in a future release.
The scale shown on the drawing gives the ratio of print units to real units. So in your example 1:16.44 means each inch on the drawing translates to 16.44 inches in reality.
